Hunter and Tim got their new international licenses dirty in the main event on Saturday. Tim pulled a better start number then Hunter and lined up about mid pack, while Hunter was 2 rows from the back. The start was fast but as soon as the run up came into view, the bunch-up had started hard-core. Tim made it thru the most crowded spots during the first lap better then Hunter who got stuck behind some clumsiness. Tim worked his way into a group of 4 and rode consistently to the finish. Both he and Hunter went down a couple of times in the slick, rutty conditions. Toward the end of the race, Hunter got hit with a flat and had to ride a bit before the pit. Another 30 seconds later to get a neutral wheel and he was off again, although by then, the leaders were bearing down hard and he would get pulled shortly after. Tim made it onto the finishing pavement stretch and was so close to getting onto the lead lap before Jeremy Powers and Christian Huele came flying by, so he too got pulled.
Amateur Men
Cosmo and Dave Anderson raced this one. Cosmo was coming off some strong racing in VT and was feeling good. Today though he didn't have the greatest day in the mud and went down more then he's used to. He still ended up at 28th place out of 150, but that was not the race he had hoped for. Dave finished right in the middle of the pack at 75th place. No bad considering he had to ride a solid 2 laps at the start in heavy traffic.
Masters 35+ Cat 1-4
Larry raced and placed 45th in the super fast masters race. Go Larry go !
