Larry scores a big Podium for the team!
Larry Merling, who has been dealing with sickness and injury, raced for the first time up in NY at the Johnny Cake Lane training race. Here is his report from the race:

    Through the first corner Ben Wolfe from CCNS and a JAM rider attack and get a gap. I figure since there are about 5 JAM guys in the race they won't chase if it goes up the road and sticks so I go and bridge up. The three of us are now making a go of it and a few miles down the road another 9 guys have come across as well. Now there are 12 of us and everyone is taking pulls to open a gap. In the break were Ben and Aidan from CCnS, two JAM NCC guys, Evan Thomas from Targettraining, Max from Danbury Audi, and 5 others. It stayed this way for the next 7 laps basically, everyone more or less working together, and the gap went up to 4 minutes or so as no one was really in the chasing mood I guess and the only "team" that missed out being Keltic with 3-4 guys in the field. With 2 to go the fun starts as Aidan would attack with Evan on his wheel, forcing myself and others to jump across so as not to be left behind the split. Once it would come back together Ben would then counter and start it all over again. This would go on for the rest of the race. Shortly after the start of the bell lap, a JAM rider and another guy would go down hard after some wheels got crossed. They were not badly hurt but would not rejoin the break. So after some more attacking on the last lap things were going to come down to a sprint. Ben led it out but Max would come around and win by a few bike lengths with Evan in 3rd and myself in 4th. I was pretty wrecked by the end so was happy with that. However, Evan was dq'd for most likely a yellow line violation so I ended up in 3rd. Whatever, I was psyched just to have been in the break all day.
