Wayne Elliot Memorial Race
Cat 2,3
Hunter P made the drive up to Haverhill to race on the new course for this old race. It was a 7 mile circuit with minimal climbing and a fast downhill sprint finish. Roads were overall ok with a couple of sketchy sections that had many well marked obstacles. There were over 60 riders and a couple of well represented teams. For the opening 5 laps it seemed like the same teams were putting the same amount of guys in moves off the front. 4-7 riders each time. Any one of the groups should have gone away but the course, which seemed more down then up, kept things together. Hunter was in a move during the 4th lap but it too got reeled back in. Then with about a lap and a half to go, a move went up the road with about 7 guys who worked hard and stayed away. Hunter was caught out recharging and missed it. He rolled in without contesting the sprint midpack.
