Cat 4 race and Cat4,5 30+

Dillon, John B, Peter K, Antonio and Joe P raced the Cat 4 race. The team rode solid for the event and Dillon took 19th in the fast sprint finish. Dillon stayed on and did the follow-up 30+ race, nabbing a 9th place finish in that one.

Masters 30+

The race started at 1:30pm and so did the rain showers and cool temps. As the field toed the line most guys were shivering cold and anxious for the race to start quickly. In the mix for CCR was Hunter, Joe K, Larry, & Rob E. The race started pretty fast, the nasty road spray from the tires made for very poor vision. There were attacks all race long but nothing really stuck. Joe K tried a solo attack but no one followed and was swept up by the pelaton after a few laps. VQ Rob nabbed a prime and Joe K had one locked up with a nice gap on the field but lost it at the last second due to poor gap management. The rest of the race was relatively fast and for the most part safe. Coming into the final lap Hunter was on the outside looking for Joe to jump on his wheel and despite some good position for the sprint, he ended up getting boxed in. Rounding the last corner Joe put his head down and gunned it all the way to the line, right up the middle with no one in the way and nabbed 7th place, 3rd place for CT. All in all a good race considering the conditions.

P123 race

The sky's cleared and the race course was mostly dry. Getting to the line for CCR was Hunter and Joe K. A big field of 70 riders including some of the U23 Dutch National team made the start for the 40lap event. The speeds were fast and breaks were trying to get away all race long. Constant attacks came from CCNS, Expowheel Men, and many others. Nothing stuck in the beginning. We hung in the pack all race long averaging 27mph. A 5 man break got a decent gap toward the end of the race but was caught just at the finish line. We finished strong and safely in the pack.
