Hunter made the trip into PA for the first of 4 MAC ( mid-atlantic cyclocross ) races. He was given a good starting spot thanks to a strong finish in the series last year. He took advantage of it and got the hole shot. He held onto the lead for 2 and half laps until Alejandro Guzman, winner of last year's race made his way thru the field and caught Hunter. As Hunter faught to stay on the wheel, he dropped his chain, allowing 2nd place to come up and pass him and Guzman to get a gap that would last the whole race. Hunter dropped his chain a second time, forcing him to chase 3rd place. He ended up in 4th.
Sunday
Cat 2,3
The course for Sunday was ridden backwards from Saturday with a log hop thrown in for good measure. Hunter got the hole again but with Guzman in a better starting spot was able to catch and pass in a shorter amount of time. The course run backwards gave Hunter fewer power sections to gain time. He settled for 5th place on the day.
