Here is his report:
"The course
narrowed form 8 wide to 4-5 wide in a long sweeping left after about
200 yards. I think I moved up a spot or two, but then on a straight
section there was a huge crash near the front of the field. I got held
up and was sitting somewhere in the bottom 5 riders by the time I
cleared. The course then had a series of off cambers up and down the
hill along with a double barrier set. I knew this part would string out
the field single/double file, I just figured I would be farther
forward. The rest of the course flat with tons and tone of turns. Some
on gravel, some on wood chips and a double spiral type sand section.
I had my FD set to not drop my chain but I couldn't
get into my big ring. In a few sections I wish I had more than my 12
tooth. I also think I was running just a shade too low pressure. On
some of the turns I could feel the sidewall flex.
I was never able to move up significantly, most of
the time I was in no-man's-land. Everyone was super quick on all the
flat straight sections. I ended up 73rd of 75 finisher and one lap
down. Today was not my day.
