Downeast Cyclocross UCI Day one

Cat 3

Larry Merling hit up this fast race in beautiful New Gloucester. The best Killer B's made the trip up to Maine and the race had over 60 in it. Larry started well, moved up to about 12th, then went into an off camber section pretty fast, washed out, and was taken out by riders behind him. Larry was already nursing some wounds from Providence and Saturday's crash hurt them all back over again. He toughed it out and finished 29th, just 30 seconds out of a top 20 and may have had a crack at a top ten if he didn't go down.
