Cat 2 \ 3
Hunter drove down to make it a long weekend of racing in NJ. First up was the always fast, always sandy race in south jersey, Beacon Cross. The course this year was fast, but with plenty of sand lurking everywhere it still took finesse and skill to race well. Definitely a course where you had to drive your bike, not just ride it. Back again were the 2 long running sections, a long 80 meter beach dash and the "amphitheater of pain" with 24 inch steps spaced 3 feet apart. Hunter started in row 2 thanks to registering early and was 2nd wheel going into the woods, just missing the holeshot. A group of about 7 riders formed off the front soon after with Hunter just behind them in a group of another 6 or 7 riders. It would stay that way the whole race. Hunter would make time up on the 200 meter climbing sections and was able to ride the first 20 meters of the sand where others were getting off right away. But with fast dirt road sections where drafting was key, it would all come back together each lap.

Hunter rode the last lap conservatively and was able to out sprint all but one other rider to the line, finishing a solid 9th place.
