Harlem Skyscraper Classic

Cat 2,3 Race

Hunter was a last minute entry to the Harlem race and having never done it, was looking forward to getting on camera. Alas, the live internet coverage of the event didn't start until the Pro race. Hunter didn't know that so he had some fun seeking out TV time anyway. He shot off the front at the whistle with one other guy for a couple of laps and then settled in.
With 120 riders on the short, tight city course, moving up was a pain in the neck. Hunter's position hunting got derailed due to a crash mid-race that took a few laps to recover from. There were a couple of attacks that got off the front but never more then 70 meters or 10 seconds. Hunter got to the front with 8 to go and dug in for the ramp-up. With 6 to go a crash behind him brought an ambulance onto the course and neutralized the race. Hunter ended up at the very back of the pack for the restart and the race was cut to 3 laps. He had to get around one last crash in those 3 crazy laps and getting up to the front while still having something for the sprint was out of the question.
Front & center, ready to go

Immediate flyer was never going to work,
but it put the team kit out there

End of the race push ( off the front momentarily )

Crash brings the race to a stop.
Hunter and the front half of the field are told to do a neutral lap,
the rest of the field stops on the line and takes up key restart spots.
