Tokeneke RR - The New England Regional Championships

Cat 4

Gregg and Dana knew it would be a tough race. It was Dana's first Tokeneke. He was the first to come into difficulty on the climbs. He settled into a couple of groups on the road and toughed it out to the finish. 64th out of 80 or so riders. Gregg hung on a little longer but lost contact with the lead group on the first time up the finishing climb. He stayed close the rest of the day, staying in a strong group of the back riders. He ends up in 36th place

Pro/1,2

Hunter withstood the onslaught that was the first lap of 4. Riders started losing contact as soon as the climbing started. The high speed continued all lap long as Hunter set a new personal record for the Tokeneke circuit by over 5 minutes. Approx 35 riders were dropped and abandoned after the first time up the finishing climb at a nearly constant 17mph. Hunter stayed in the group for another lap but eventually lost contact on the climbs of the 3rd lap. After some solo riding and some attempts to catch back on with a handful of riders, Hunter rolled in at 37th place out of nearly 100 hundred starters.
