The road season ended in style for those who went out and raced in downtown Hartford on the 22nd. It was super challenging course that required 100% attention.
Cat 3/4
Dillon lined up in the field of 30 or so riders. Almost immediately, there were attacks with riders heading off the get thru the dicey corners alone. About 7 laps in, a rider went down in front of Dillon, splitting him and 5 others off the back. Some confusion among the officials and other lapped riders not in Dillon's group led to Dillon himself being pulled, even though his group was far from being lapped. Bummer way to end the day.
Pro1/2/3
Hunter and Dave raced in the big time field of 80 guys. Hincapie Devo was there as well as most of the big NYC teams. Right off the line, it was single file for 8-10 laps as the break went clear. From there it "settled down" but was still a constant 26-29 mph. Dave was battling a cold and eventually had to come off and out of the race. Hunter hung in there to take 35th.
