Nutmeg State Games, New Britain CT

The Team once again cleans up and goes home a bit heavier thanks to some medal winning rides!

50+

Miguel gets 30th place out of a big field of 60 riders.

Cat 3

Dave and Dillon 1,2 the competition! It was super fast and both of them decided to stay out out of the mix untill the end. A 3 rider break would eventually get a gap but the chase was furious. During the last couple of laps, Dillon dug deep to get Dave up to the front and from there Dave did what he does so well... Hang tough and sprint! He takes 3rd in the field sprint just 10 seconds behind the break and 6th overall! It was good enough for silver in the State Medals chase!

Cat 4

Stephen Gibertoni rolled into this one with only a couple of races on the year so far. He avoided a couple of crashes and takes 8th overall but was indeed the top finisher from CT. So the Gold goes to him!

35+ Race

Hunter and Joe lined up for the super fast 35+ event. Both got involved with a break or 2 with Joe finding his way into the most successful move of the day. Everything was brought back though, setting up a field sprint. Hunter got thru the last corner in about 7th place and sprints to 4th overall, but the first place CT finisher for the Gold medal.

30+ Race

The team fielded Joe, Hunter, Dana, Dillon and Dave Maynard for the semi-popular 30+ race. It's a rare race to hold but the team appreciates the opportunity to ride together. Right from the gun, a strong break went up the road and Joe was there, heads-up to cover it. It was 4 riders and with plenty of defense in the field, the gap went up quickly. Joe hung tough in the break, doing his fair share of work all race long. The final 3 laps were fast with attacks out of the break putting everyone in the red. Joe got the short-end, especially since he had a race in his legs already. He hung on for 4th place overall, good for the Bronze medal! Behind, Hunter and Dillon were keeping things steady so that Dave could sprint for 6th in the field sprint, 9th overall. Nice job everyone.

PRO1-3

Hunter capped off the day with his 3rd race, the Pro 1,2,3 Event. He finished about 75% of it before calling it quits, nearly 70 miles of crit racing on the day.
